Dental Bonding Procedure
The dental bonding process is efficient and minimally invasive. Our dentist will carefully choose a composite resin color that matches the patient's tooth color prior to beginning the bonding process. If necessary, a local anesthetic may be used to reduce any discomfort if drilling is required to reshape the tooth or if there is damage near a nerve. The tooth surface will be prepared by roughening it and applying a conditioning liquid to help the bonding material adhere properly.
Next, our dentist will apply, shape, and smooth the resin to achieve the desired shape before using a light or laser to harden the material. Once the resin has hardened, it will be trimmed, shaped, and polished to blend seamlessly with the tooth's surface. The entire bonding process can typically be completed in one appointment and takes about 30 to 60 minutes per tooth.
