Some offices may initially charge a surgery/temporary fee, only for you to later discover an additional $5,000-$15,000 is required for your final teeth.

Additionally, your dental implants are made of titanium, the same material used in artificial hip and knee joints, allowing your jawbone to naturally grow around and attach to them over time.

Typically, the surgery for one arch lasts about 1 hour, followed by 2 hours for the lab work to make the teeth. For patients getting either upper or lower arches done, they are usually finished around lunchtime if we start in the morning. If both top and bottom teeth are being replaced, the procedure usually wraps up between 2:30 and 3:30 in the afternoon. Most of the time is spent waiting for the teeth to be made in our lab and ensuring they fit perfectly. It may be a long day, but the end result will definitely be worth it!

Although this service is beneficial for many patients, it can be challenging to address complications or broken teeth if you are far from home or in another country. Local offices may not be willing to repair work done by out-of-town providers. One advantage of receiving a temporary set of fixed teeth on the day of surgery is the opportunity to test them and determine your preferences. For the final zirconia or nano-ceramic teeth, we can conduct try-ins to ensure they meet your expectations. While receiving final teeth immediately is convenient, there are significant drawbacks that should not be ignored.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

The procedure typically lasts 4-6 hours, depending on whether you are getting one arch (upper or lower) or both arches treated. After leaving our office, your temporary bridge(s) will be securely attached to your new implants. You will wear these temporary bridge(s) for 4 months to allow for proper integration with your bone and healing of your jaws and gums. This healing period ensures the best fit for your final bridge(s). Once healed, we will begin creating your final bridge(s) through a series of appointments over 5-6 weeks, where you can help design the smile you want for your permanent teeth.

Mouth Impressions

The lab utilizes these tools to create your temporary implant bridge(s). In cases where you are missing all or most of the teeth in the treated arch, the doctor may recommend a wax try-in. This involves a mock-up of your temporary implant bridge to ensure proper bite alignment and aesthetics.

Procedure

The process includes extracting any necessary teeth, placing implants, and then placing temporary implant bridges. Typically, this procedure takes 4-7 hours to complete.

After the procedure, please check the healing progress and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

At the appointment 3 weeks after the procedure, the sutures will be removed and the healing will be checked. Typically, patients are cleared to start using a water flosser/WaterPik at this time.

Impressions for Final Teeth

Within 5-10 days of impressions, we will provide a mock-up of your final teeth. In some cases, multiple wax try-ins may be necessary. It is important that you are fully satisfied with the wax try-ins before we proceed with processing them. Once the final product is fabricated, changes cannot be made. Any alterations to your bridge(s) after approval and fabrication will incur a full-cost remake charge.

Seat Final Teeth

Once you approve your wax try-in(s), it usually takes 4-6 weeks for your bridge or bridges to be ready for seating.
